Utah gymnastics junior MyKayla Skinner and senior MaKenna Merrell-Giles have been named regular season All-Americans by the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association.
Skinner earned four first-team awards for finishing the regular season ranked third in the all-around, second on vault, sixth on bars and sixth on floor.
Merrell-Giles earned the award for being ranked No. 8 on vault and picked up second-team honors for being ranked No. 11 in the all-around.
The awards mean Skinner is now Utah’s all-time leader in All-America awards with 22, passing Ashley Postell who earned the maximum of 20 possible during her career (2005-2008).
The WCGA began awarding regular season All-America honors in 2013.
Merrell-Giles has eight career All-America awards.
