FAS

The role that journalism plays in strengthening our communities is more important than ever. But, we cannot do this work without your support. The First Amendment Society is made up of dedicated individuals who believe in the importance of The Tribune’s local independent journalism to Utah.

First Amendment Society members pledge to donate at least $1,200 each year. Their support is essential to The Salt Lake Tribune, and helps our nonprofit newsroom report the stories that no one else can—or will.

Ways to give

Anyone who gives over $1200/year is invited to join the First Amendment Society and receive exclusive invites to Tribune events. You can read more about FAS above.

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)

To designate a gift to The Salt Lake Tribune from your donor-advised fund (DAF), please reach out to your fund manager. The Salt Lake Tribune’s EIN is 84-1878709.

You can give directly from a Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or BNY Mellon DAF here.

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)

Appreciated Stock

Planned Giving

You can help continue this legacy of local journalism in Utah. Your legacy gift is a testament to your belief in the importance of an informed and engaged community. It helps us remain a steadfast resource for generations to come.

To include The Salt Lake Tribune in your will or trust, please work with your attorney to include a bequest provision in your will or trust. You can use language such as:

“I, [Your Name], hereby give, devise, and bequeath to The Salt Lake Tribune, Federal Tax ID: 84-187-8709, [percentage of your estate, specific amount, or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose.”

Please fill out this Legacy Gift Notification Form and email it to development@sltrib.com to notify us of your legacy gift.

Charitable Trusts

To establish a charitable trust benefitting The Salt Lake Tribune, you can use language such as:

“I hereby establish a charitable remainder trust naming The Salt Lake Tribune, Federal Tax ID: 84-187-8709, as the remainder beneficiary.”
