The Salt Lake Tribune covers the news that no one else can—or will.
We’ve made sltrib.com free to read — because access to trustworthy news matters. Reporting like this takes resources, and as a nonprofit newsroom, we rely on reader support to fund this work. Make a donation today to power local news for Utah.

The role that journalism plays in strengthening our communities is more important than ever. But, we cannot do this work without your support. The First Amendment Society is made up of dedicated individuals who believe in the importance of The Tribune’s local independent journalism to Utah.
First Amendment Society members pledge to donate at least $1,200 each year. Their support is essential to The Salt Lake Tribune, and helps our nonprofit newsroom report the stories that no one else can—or will.
You can read more about the benefits of membership and donate directly online below. Find information on how to donate via stocks, DAF, IRA QCDs, legacy giving, or charitable trusts below.
We will have merchandise selection available this summer. All active members will receive a link to choose this optional benefit. Depending on selection, a portion of your donation may not be tax deductible.
As a thank you for helping us remove the paywall, donors who give at least $15 between May 12 and May 31 can select an optional piece of commemorative merchandise based on their level of giving. The Tribune development team will reach out in June to fulfill this.
To designate a gift to The Salt Lake Tribune from your donor-advised fund (DAF), please reach out to your fund manager. The Salt Lake Tribune’s EIN is 84-1878709.
