Former Utah State interim coach Frank Maile headed to Boise State
He will become the associate head coach and defensive line coach for Broncos

Former Utah State interim football coach Frank Maile reportedly has a new home.
Maile accepted a position with Boise State as its new associate head coach and defensive line coach, per a report by the Herald Journal.
Maile was passed over for the head coaching job at USU, which was eventually filled by Blake Anderson. The decision was mired in controversy after USU President Noelle Cockett allegedly made comments disparaging Maile’s ethnic and religious background, seemingly using them as reasoning for not considering Maile for the head coaching job.
The Utah Board of Higher Education will release the results of an investigation into Cockett’s comments on Friday. Maile last month publicly called on the board to look into what happened.
Maile served as USU’s interim coach twice — two years ago after former Aggie coach Matt Wells left for Texas Tech, then again last autumn following the departure of Gary Andersen.
