Utah State football’s game against Fresno State on Saturday will be held without fans, the university announced Tuesday.
The decision was made in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in a time where hospitalizations and case rates have skyrocketed throughout the state. Gov. Herbert unveiled new restrictions Sunday, including a statewide mask mandate.
The Aggies welcomed 5,116 fans to Maverik Stadium for their home opener against San Diego State on Oct. 31.
The university said in a news release that fans who bought a ticket to Saturday’s game will receive an automatic refund.
The Aggies are 0-3 to start the season and recently fired coach Gary Andersen.
