Cache County high school coach arrested for sexual messages to undercover cop posing as a teen, police say

The man sent photos and videos and attempted to set up an in-person meeting, court documents state

A Cache County high school coach has been arrested for allegedly sending sexual messages and images to an undercover police officer posing as a 13-year-old girl.

In December, the 48-year-old coach began having conversations with a Logan police officer posing as an eighth-grader, according to a probable cause statement filed this week in Cache County’s 1st District Court.

The coach engaged in sexual conversations, sent photos and videos of male genitilia to a group chat he knew the supposed teenager was in, and attempted to set up a meeting in person, the court document states.

The conversations continued into February before the coach allegedly became concerned he was talking with an undercover officer.

The man was arrested Thursday and is being held in the Cache County Jail on suspicion of four counts of dealing in harmful materials to a minor and three counts of enticing a minor by internet or text.

He has not been formally charged with any crimes.
