Although the game was put together with just a couple of days notice, the BYU-Coastal Carolina game was the biggest game of the season for the Cougars. And it was as well for college football fans.

Saturday’s matchup was ESPNU’s most-viewed game since 2015 and fifth-most viewed all-time.

A total live audience of 1,425,000 viewers across TV and digital platforms, including ESPNU, ESPN2 bonus coverage and streaming, saw the Chanticleers pull of an upset over the Cougars.

Just on ESPNU, the game averaged 1,212,000 viewers, making it the most-viewed game on ESPNU since the 2015 Western Kentucky vs. LSU game.

The live stream contributed an average minute audience of 103,000 viewers — second best for any game on ESPN networks in Week 14.
