Skiers and cowboys came together for the the annual Skijoring competition on Friday, Feb. 22, 2019 in Soldier Hollow. Skijoring is a sport that combines horseback riding and skiing. The skier holds on to a long rope, as the rider on the horse pulls the skier through a slalom course. The horse rides in a straight line, and the skier must navigate a series of gates, with jumps and grab a couple of rings with their free arm along the way to the finish line. The skiers and riders competed for cash and prizes in the two-day Skijoring event near Midway.
