Two articles in the Aug. 19 Salt Lake Tribune (“Cities at risk” and “Canyon roads need pricey repairs”) are a reminder of the many dangers posed by our changing climate.
Every day brings news of more extreme weather events: floods, fires, bomb cyclones and record temperatures. It’s long past time for our politicians to acknowledge climate change and our role in producing it. It’s time to rid ourselves of the Utah politicians who are climate change deniers or minimizers.
Utah’s Clean the Darn Air campaign promotes clean air, rural economic development and climate action in Utah. At the national level, the Citizens Climate Lobby proposes a bipartisan climate solution, HR 763, to address climate change.
