Letter: Police officers failed Lauren McCluskey
(Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune) Photos of Lauren McCluskey on display as It's On Us Utah hosts a celebration of McCluskey's life at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Friday Oct. 26, 2018.
University of Utah student Lauren McCluskey was murdered on campus by a criminal parolee. Being stalked and threatened, she called the University police many times and also called the Salt Lake City Police for help and protection.
So what happened? The police ignored her. Blew her off. Did nothing. And now she's dead, murdered by a known criminal.
Should the officers be fired and prosecuted? Not my call, but I do want those cops identified.
And I want them to tell us, How do you people sleep at night?
