Letter: The Tribune Sports section might as well be called the Jazz section
(Eric Christian Smith | The Associated Press) Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell (45) gestures towards Rudy Robert following the team's win against the Houston Rockets in an NBA basketball game, Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, In Houston. Utah won 100-89.
Now that the Jazz are back in action, The Tribune’s sports section is again dominated by the Jazz. Some days as much as 75 percent of the columns are devoted to Salt Lake’s pro basketball team.
Strange that The Tribune could not afford the box scores of Major League Baseball teams, yet we get daily box scores on the activity in the NBA. Sad we have to look to the Deseret News for reports on statewide high school sports activity. They also printed the box scores of the Major League games and reports on the rookie league Pioneer League baseball, the Orem Owlz and Ogden Raptors.
I guess the Jazz is the only game in the state worthy of such coverage in The Tribune. I would think The Tribune would reassess their policies if they want to keep their print subscribers.
