Letter: What does an 84-year-old have to do to be offered a seat?

We have parked at the Salt Lake City International Airport and shuttled to the terminals many times in the past few years. Many times the shuttles are crowded and we have been forced to stand. My husband is 84 years old.
What has happened in our society when young, healthy passengers who have seats will not offer a seat to an 84-year-old man who is legally blind? Not once in the times we’ve been forced to stand has anyone offered him a seat.
