Letter: Law-abiding people will be hurt if Prop 2 fails

(Kathy Stephenson | The Salt Lake Tribune) Utahns who support Proposition 2 picked up their lawn signs and T-shirt during a rally Saturday.

If you are considering voting against Proposition 2 because you don’t want to spread the use of marijuana, consider this. Anyone who currently smokes or wants to smoke pot recreationally never lacks a source of procurement. I smoked daily from 1968 to 1988. Attaining it was as effortless as buying milk.

The people who will be hurt if this proposition fails are those good, kind folks who would never think of doing anything outside the law. They are the ones who won’t get the pain relief that could be available. Voting no isn’t the moral choice. It’s simply cruel and/or uninformed.
