Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune Like so many others, Mark Fordham of Provo, UT, became a Star Wars fan after seeing the first movie back in 1977. Soon after he created his first crude Darth Vader costume. Since those days he has become a regular charitable contributor to events as a member of the 501st Legion costuming club. At the top of his list of favorites has always been ringing the bell for the Salvation Army, not only because of the cause but because of the interaction with other fans and the fact that he gets to stand out in the cold when wearing a costume that can get pretty hot.
