She spearheaded the 4th grade learn to ski program; the 4th, 5th and 6th grade Passport; Discover Winter and National Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month. During her time, the number of skier days in the state rose from about 2 million to about 7 million and she has brought billions of dollars into the state in tax revenue, per Ski Utah president Nathan Rafferty.
Julie left the beach of Santa Cruz, Calif., where she worked for 17 years, for the mountains of Salt Lake City in 2019. She has covered the NBA Finals, the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Maverick's big wave surf contest and two Olympics. A Colorado native, she enjoys creating her own adventure, occasionally with her husband and two kids in tow.
