Man arrested after body found wrapped in garbage bags on Salt Lake City sidewalk
The identity of the victim is still not being released as officials work to notify next-of-kin.

A 47-year-old man is in custody after Salt Lake City police say they found another man’s body wrapped in plastic and garbage bags on a sidewalk on Monday.
The identity of the victim is still not being released as officials work to notify next-of-kin.
The investigation started early Monday when, at 6:41 a.m., they were called to a home in the area of 1700 South 300 East. Police say they found the victim wrapped in garbage bags, a shower curtain, and plastic near a utility cart.
Detectives interviewed witnesses, who stated they had seen a man pushing the body on the cart, but when the cart tipped over, the man ran away.The Utah State Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be homicide due to blunt force trauma and asphyxiation.
