Remembering Ray Kingston, who designed SLC’s Abravanel Hall and Snowbird’s Cliff Lodge

Though he rubbed elbows with Utah’s elite, family and friends say Kingston, who died this month, was a humble, thoughtful artist who never forgot his rural roots.

(Kingston family) Ray Kingston, prominent Utah architect and co-founder of FFKR Architects, died Aug. 2, 2022. Among many notable landmarks, some of Kingston's favorite and best-known works included designing of the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird and Abravanel Hall in Salt Lake City.
