Salt Lake City construction worker dies after 26-foot fall

The apparent accident happened Monday afternoon.

A construction worker died Monday afternoon in an apparent industrial accident after falling about 26 feet, according to the Salt Lake City Fire Department.

Fire Capt. Tony Stow confirmed the fatality, which occurred at about 3:05 p.m. in the area of 2300 North and 2200 West in Salt Lake City. The worker died at the scene.

Salt Lake City police also responded to the area to assist in the response, officials said.

The man who died was not immediately identified. No further details, including the man’s employer, and what may have caused the fall, were released Monday afternoon.

Utah Occupational Safety and Health is investigating the fatality.
