A Salt Lake City man died Sunday when he fell while hiking in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
Andrew Acuff, 26, was killed when he fell about 200 feet while hiking the Wasatch Uintah Ridgeline Trail. According to Unified Police, the trail is dangerous, even for experienced hikers and climbers.
Several of Acuff’s friends told police he was supposed to meet them on Sunday but did not arrive. They located his body and contacted authorities.
Search and rescue crews recovered the body, which was lifted out of the canyon by a helicopter.
