Three people, including assailant, injured in South Jordan stabbing case

A stabbing late Sunday sent three people, including the assailant, to hospitals.

South Jordan police, in a news release, said they received a call from the University of Utah Health Center in that city alerting them that two men, ages 41 and 23, were brought in with stab wounds. A helicopter flew the older man to University Hospital in Salt Lake City with life-threatening injuries.

The news release said he is expected to survive. So is the younger man.

According to police, the assailant was also stabbed in the altercation and went to Jordan Valley Medical Center with his injuries. After receiving treatment, he was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a restricted person.

Police believe the altercation started with a disagreement between the three men over helping their friends move out of a residence near 5800 W. Hill Stone Drive.
