Man dies after being shot by Orem homeowner who found him trespassing in his garage

A man shot by a homeowner while reportedly trespassing in a garage has died, Orem police confirmed.

Marcos Rosales, 49, was shot multiple times by the homeowner. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died.

According to police, the shooting took place at about 7 a.m. at 364 N. 800 West. The homeowner told police he confronted an intruder in a detached garage near the house. An altercation ensued, and when Rosales allegedly tried to assault him, the homeowner fired several shots with a handgun, striking him in the abdomen.
