An Arizona woman, who allegedly sexually abused a Utah boy she nannied over a period of 10 years, “convinced” the victim she was “teaching him to be a good husband,” according to charges filed in Utah this week.
The woman, who is now 68, was the boy’s nanny from 1999 to 2009 in Salt Lake County. She has been charged in 3rd District Court with five counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony, and two counts of forcible sex abuse, a second-degree felony. Each charge has an enhancement of being someone in a special position of trust.
Starting when the boy was 8 years old, the woman would “often” go into the bathroom, expose herself to the boy and touched him inappropriately, charges state. As time went on, she allegedly performed sex acts with him.
The boy told police that the nanny had shown him her breasts more than 100 times and had performed sex acts with him more than 30 times.
In an interview with police, the former nanny admitted to inappropriately touching the boy and exposing herself to him, charges state. The woman “further stated it was all part of the boy’s curiosity and it was just him ‘learning,’” according to charges.
The nanny is scheduled to make her initial appearance in court Monday.
