A day before the Cougars were set to play their second game of the season, a fourth player has been lost for the season due to injury. Junior linebacker Chaz Ah You will soon have surgery, a BYU Football spokesperson confirmed.
So far, BYU has lost standout senior tight end Matt Bushman to a lower leg injury and running backs Hinckley Ropati (knee) and Jackson McChesney (foot). Ropati was reported injured in the final scrimmage of fall camp, Bushman was injured in a practice a week before the season was set to start and McChesney was injured during the Navy game.
However, Ah You wasn’t injured in a specific play or practice. His injury was preexisting. The junior and the team planned for the Saratoga Springs native to have surgery at some point this fall. Due to the ever-changing situation brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, Ah You decided to have the surgery sooner rather than later.
