(Rose Datoc Dall) "Oil Study of Christ 05" is one of three submissions by the Filipina American artist Rose Datoc Dall in the Provo art show. For Dall, the 2020 police killing of the Black man George Floyd represented a turning point. She began posting artwork of a decidedly darker Jesus to her Instagram account, bracing for pushback. Instead, she received a flood of supportive messages, many from fellow Latter-day Saints.
