(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Mira Petersen, and Kaitlyn Kunz hike on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022 along one of many social trails that break off of the Grandeur Peak Face Trail, which starts at the north end of Wasatch Boulevard. A connector trail between that trailhead and the Pipeline Trail in Mill Creek Canyon is slated to be completed by the end of the year. It has been in the works for more than 20 years and will create 10 continuous miles of Bonneville Shoreline Trail.
Julie left the beach of Santa Cruz, Calif., where she worked for 17 years, for the mountains of Salt Lake City in 2019. She has covered the NBA Finals, the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Maverick's big wave surf contest and two Olympics. A Colorado native, she enjoys creating her own adventure, occasionally with her husband and two kids in tow.
