Class credit for serving an LDS mission? The University of Utah will now offer just that.

The new offer will apply to proselytizing missions for those of all faiths, as well as students who do humanitarian work.

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) University of Utah President Taylor Randall, left, is greeted by President Henry B. Eyring, second counselor of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, prior to inauguration ceremonies for Randall as the U’s 17th president at Kingsbury Hall on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. In April 2025, the U. announced that students who go on Latter-day Saint missions — along with other activities — will be able to get school credit for those.
