Smoky skies may return to northern Utah this weekend
Patchy smoke is forecasted for Salt Lake City on Saturday night, with more area smoke expected on Sunday.

Although smoke from wildfires on the West Coast cleared up and air quality improved earlier in the week, Utah could see more smoke in the area this weekend.
The air quality in Salt Lake County was in the “good” zone today, but still unhealthy for sensitive groups, according to the Department of Environmental Quality. The air quality is forecasted to remain unhealthy for sensitive groups through the weekend, with patchy smoke expected Saturday night and area smoke forecasted on Sunday in Salt Lake City, according to the National Weather Service.
Friday night’s forecast for Salt Lake City is expected to be mostly clear, with a low around 72, but will warm up Saturday with a high near 96. Patchy smoke is expected Saturday evening with a low of 71, and areas of smoke are forecasted for Sunday with temps at a high near 94.
The smoke is expected to clear up Monday morning, with a sunny day predicted and a high near 96.
