(Leah Hogsten | The Salt Lake Tribune) A parolee broke into Bre Lasley's home in 2015 and began attacking her and her sister Kayli. Robert Berger stabbed a knife into Lasley's abdomen just as Salt Lake City police officer Ben Hone ran into her laundry room and shot and killed him. That Hone was in the area at all was a coincidence. Lasley and her sister had called 911 multiple times, screaming their address and asking for help, but dispatchers never sent a police officer. Lasley is now filing a lawsuit, saying Priority Dispatch's protocol requires dispatchers to ask a series of questions before they would send help. Because the women couldn't answer the questions, no one was sent.
