Kayaker drowns in Jordan River

A man died Thursday evening when his kayak flipped over in the Jordan River, according to Unified Police Department.
The man, who was described as in his 50s, was kayaking near 4600 South just before 6 p.m. when the boat overturned on the spillway. The force of the moving water kept the man submerged underwater and he drowned, according to officials.
Police have not released the man’s name.
